Historical Background of SMMUCo :

The Stefano Moshi Memorial University College (SMMUCo) is one of the six constituent colleges of Tumaini University; other colleges of Tumaini University are: Iringa University College (IUCo), Makumira University College (MUCo), Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College (KCM - College), Tumaini Dar es Salaam College (TU-DARCo) and Sebastian Kolowa University College (SEKUCo).

The University College has been developed from the Masoka Management Training Institute (MMTI) and Mwika Lutheran Bible College (LBC). It belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania - Northern Diocese and it is a Multi Campus University College.

Currently SMMUCo has a campus in Masoka, Mwika and Moshi Town. Masoka Campus is currently serving as the main Campus of SMMUCo. Projected campuses are Machame, Siha and Karatu. The main Campus of SMMUCo will be at Machame Campus in Hai District.

SMMUCo has been granted:

·         Certificate of Full Registration (CFR) issued by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU);

·         Charter of Incorporation issued by The United Republic of Tanzania;

·        Exemption from the National Board of Accountancy and Auditors of Tanzania (NBAA) to its Accounting programmes.
