Admission Requirements:

 

1.     Degree Programmes:
 
Part 1:
All applicants must have a Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) with a minimum of three (3) credit passes, obtained prior to sitting for the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (ACSEE).
 
Part 2:
After meeting the requirement in part 1, the applicant must also qualify in one of the following categories before proceeding to the “Specific Admissions Requirements” for the programme they wish to pursue.
 

(a)        Direct Entry:
An eligible applicant must have at least two principal level passes at A level with total points not below 4.5 where A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, S=0.5 
 

(b)        Equivalent Qualification:
Applicants who are eligible for equivalent admission to any degree programme must have either:
 

·        Minimum equivalent requirement specific to the programme of study as listed under the Faculty; or

·        Met entry requirements at an accredited University in the applicant’s home country (for International Students applicants) subject to approval by the SMMUCo Academic Board and the Tumaini University Senate. 

 

 

(c)        Mature Age Entry:
Applicants who are eligible for mature age admission to degree programmes must satisfy the following conditions:

·        Must be 25 years or above in the year of application.

·        Must have attended O level or above at least five years prior to the year of application.

·        Must have attended and passed tests in extra-mural classes, residential courses or courses offered at an Adult Education College or Centre recognised by an approved authority;

·        Must sit and pass the SMMUCo Entrance Examination.
 

2.     Non Degree Programmes:

 

 

Diploma Programmes:


Part 1:
At least two credit level passes obtained in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).
  
Part 2:
After meeting the requirement in part 1, the applicant must also qualify in one of the following categories before proceeding to the “Specific Admissions Requirements” for the programme they wish to pursue.
 

(a)           Direct Entry:
An eligible applicant must have at least one principal level pass at A level

Applicants who are eligible for equivalent admission to any diploma programme must have either:

·        Minimum equivalent requirement specific to the programme of study as listed under the Faculty or;

Certificate Programmes:

(a)   Direct Entry:

An eligible applicant must have at least two credits or five passes at O-level. 

Note: 

Applicants who fulfill the "General Admission Requirements" must also meet the “Specific Admission Requirements listed under the Faculty” for the programme they wish to pursue.
