Admission | Requirements

COURSE PROGRAMMES OFFERED AND MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
According to TCU directives
Candidates who completed A-Level from 1988 to date and are applying for degree programmes under DIRECT ENTRY CATEGORY should channel their applications through a Central Admission System of Tanzania Commission for Universities (www.tcu.go.tz).
Candidates applying for degree programmes under EQUIVALENT ENTRY CATEGORY should apply DIRECTLY TO STEFANO MOSHI MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE (SMMUCo).
Also candidates applying for Non Degree (Diploma and Certificates) programmes should apply DIRECTLY TO STEFANO MOSHI MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE (SMMUCo).

1. DEGREE PROGRAMMES (THREE YEARS)

• Bachelor of Business Administration with Education (BBA-Ed)
• Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Management (B APAM)
• Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management (BSc .HTM)
• Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) –(NBAA Exemption up to intermediate stage)
• Bachelor of Arts in Education (BEd)
• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSc. IT)

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT

• Direct entry

An applicant must have the following qualifications:-

• Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) with at least three credits and:
• Must have at least two principals in A’ Level .(Where A=5, B=4,C=3, D=2,E=1,S=0.5)

Equivalent Entry:

Applicants who are eligible for equivalent entry to degree programmes must:

• Hold at least a certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with three credits or five passes and
• Must have at least a diploma with a B grade (Second Class) in relevant field of study.

2. NON-DEGREE PROGRAMMES - FULL TIME

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES: - (TWO YEARS)

• Diploma in Business Administration and Management (DBAM)
• Diploma in Office Management and Administration (DOMA)
• Diploma in Accountancy (DAC)-( NBAA Exemption of Foundation stage)
• Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Studies (DHT)
• Diploma in Education (DEd)
• Diploma in Information Technology (DIT)
• Diploma in Theology(DTh)

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME – (NBAA exemption of ATEC I &ATEC II) ONE YEAR

• Certificate in Accountancy and Business Administration (CABA).

     3.   NON-DEGREE - EVENING PROGRAMMES
 DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES: - Evening programmes (TWO YEARS)

• Diploma in Procurement and Materials Management  (DPMM)
• Diploma in Business Administration and Management (DBAM)
• Diploma in Information Technology (DIT)
• Diploma in Accountancy (DAC)-( NBAA Exemption of Foundation stage)
• Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Studies (DHT)
• Diploma in Education (DEd)
• Diploma in Human Resources Management. (DHRM)

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT:
Direct Entry
An applicant must have:

• Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least three credits OR Five  passes and
• Certificates of Advanced Secondary Examination (ACSEE) with at least two subsidiary passes.

b) Equivalent Entry
Applicants who are eligible for equivalent admission to a Diploma programmes must:

• Hold a certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE)with at least two credits or five passes and;
• Hold a certificate in relevant field from a recognised Institution and must be approved by the SMMUCo Academic Board and Tumaini Senate.

 CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES – Evening programmes – (ONE YEAR)

• Certificate in Procurement and Materials Management (CPMM)
• Certificate in Entrepreneurship and   Microfinance.(CEM)
• Certificate in Information Technology.(CIT)
• Certificate in Accountancy and Finance (CAF)
• Certificate in Office Management and Administration (COMA)
• Certificate in Human Resources Management.(CHRM)
• Certificate in Tour Guiding and Tourism Studies (CTGT)

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT: -
An applicant must have a certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), with two credits or five passes.
Note
**    A pass in mathematics is required
